We all know how vital social media is to businesses today, and this is a full day workshop, aimed at business owners and entrepreneurs, who want to take their marketing Instagram posts to the next level. New Shoots have teamed up with Instagram expert Lisa Kyriacou Faulks from Social Elements Media, to cover everything you need to know to make your Instagram posts stand out from the crowd! In the morning Nathalie and Liz will teach you how to use your smartphones to get professional looking imagery to promote your brand and after lunch, Lisa will be looking at how you can get the best out of Instagram to help promote your business.

Part 1 – Photography:

Liz and Nathalie will cover

  • Pre-shoot Planning

  • How to use your Smartphone Camera

  • Shooting a flat-lay

  • Styling for Your Shoot

  • Lighting

  • Composition

  • Editing


Part 2 – Instagram:

Lisa will cover

  • The fundamentals of Instagram

  • What makes a good Instagram post – including tips on brand identity and best practice techniques

  • How to use hashtags

  • The importance of Instagram stories

  • Useful tools and tips

  • How to boost an Instagram post

  • How to measure success

Time to arrive:

We meet at 10.30am in the Desmond Tutu Room next to the Refectory Café, where the work shop will take place. We anticipate finishing at 1pm, although we will break for coffee during the morning and afternoon. Lunch is not provided, but we are next door the Cathedral’s Refectory which does a good choice of lunch or we are surrounded by some fabulous places to grab a bite to eat in Borough Market. 

To Bring:

  • Your Smartphone; fully charged

  • A fully charged portable charger and lead if you have one.

  • Your creativity!
