Instagram Walkabout Workshop

The most important element for anyone wanting to take better photographs for Instagram is an understanding of how the platform works and the type of aesthetics that will stand out. If you want to learn how to get more out of your instagram feed pictorially, discover its potential and learn the fundamentals of photography too; this is the course for you. We will help you take the pictures you want for your instagram and other social media platforms, by giving you the technical know how and help you with the creative vision. Making your creative content less of a headache and more of a joy.

We are professional photographers who want to share our knowledge in a small friendly group. Although, we will go through the basics of the instagram platform, this workshop is all about the imagery and the technical and compositional rules of photography, helping you create impactful and scroll stopping pictures, so that you leave feeling confident and inspired.

This is an outdoor, fully practical workshop in and around Southbank, where you will be shown different techniques and can practice your new skills, learning to achieve the following:

• An overview of the Instagram Interface
• Light
• Mastering exposure
• Composition using colour for Instagram format
• Burst Mode
• Story telling
• Basics of Reels
• Posting and Engagement on Instagram

Time to arrive

We meet at 10.30am at the Riverside Terrace cafe in the Royal Festival Hall

on Southbank, for the introductory part of the session, before we proceed on to the practical part. We anticipate finishing at 1pm, Lunch is not provided, but we will be surrounded by some fabulous places to grab a bite to eat at the end.
